Templates are a personal choice. There are many template and theme clubs to choose from for Joomla. I have my favorites and you will have yours. Baratta Design doesn't endorse any particular template club, we do promote a few but you will be the person who decides what you like for your website.
What I see in the various forums, when a new template comes out, is some like it and many complain that it wasn't suited for their site or project. I thinK most people are not seeing past the graphics of the template clubs demo sites. Graphics can be changed and CSS files can be edited.
What I look for is the layout of the module positions, to me that is the most important part of picking a template for your Joomla website. The second thing I look for, or at , is the modules that are being used in the template. Are they custom modules from the template club? Will they work in other templates? Do they function as advertised? Are there conflicts, mootools, Java Script etc...
I would suggest if you are looking for a new template that you take a serious look at the module positions and see if they suit your site idea. You don't have to use all the module positions but you may want to insert a module down the road or add a banner into a particular place. Are there postions for advertiser's in the future? What's involved in customizing the template? Can I get my Logo into the header without hiring an expert?
The Joomla template you are viewing here is the Rocketthemes template called Versatility 4 . This template would likely suit any Joomla website with 45 available module positions. Rocket Themes now offers PHPBB3 themes so you can match up your PHPBB3 forum board to your Joomla template. I also like Joomlart's work. Plus I bought a Shape5 membership recently, for personal use only.
