Do you have time to chase spam?
Do you have the time to chase spam around? You will need to enjoy the
hunt because it will become a never ending full time job. You will never be able to remove your e-mail address from a true career spammer.
I have one e-mail address I turned off for two years and the spam started the second I turned it back on. What this means is they (spam senders) have still been sending spam to that e-mail of mine for the two years it was turned off!
In some cases the bounced e-mails may have been sent to someone who had no idea their e-mail was being used as a false return address. Personally, I
feel I have wasted valuable time trying to slow it down. Now I don't waste anytime on it, I just delete it and carry on with my business. You should not take it personally when you read some nasty spam e-mail about a product or service they are selling. They don't know you at all, you are just another harvested e-mail address.
There are thousands of sites that are built around and about chasing
spam. Some sites that hunt spam may even make a few dollars on traffic to their
sites and good for them. You would have to be either making some money from the chase or
be very passionate about the crusade. My time is to limited and valuable to spend on
chasing spam. I'll leave that job to large corporations and software makers that make millions of dollars everyday 'fighting' spam. I would rather spend my time helping people get their website
functioning to meet their needs.
