Why would anyone as passionate about Joomla as I am recommend AWeber? Am I doing it simply to try and make an affiliate sale? No, actually I am doing it because most newbies will not be able to handle a Newsletter component. Is that their fault? No, in my experience with Joomla Newsletter components I have found most to be very good. However, I also receive more than one copy from some of them and one I belong to sends 4 e-mails with the same content to the same e-mail address every time they send the Newsletter out. Whether you are a newbie or an advanced user of Joomla you don't have time to make any mistakes when it comes to sending e-mail. Your site could be down and out right after the first false spam complaint. Worst case scenario is your hosting provider or IP address gets Black listed. The Black listing may have been caused by someone else who you share your IP with or hosting. If you use AWeber's auto-responder service for you e-mailing you can rest assured that they will do everything possible to make sure your e-mail gets to your subscribers, in a legal manner using proper opt-in and out methods.
We all know what spam is, that is when you get e-mail(s) that you didn't ask for trying to sell you something or worse, trying to show you things that you do not wish to see! AWeber is the opposite of spam and much more than just an autoresponder. AWeber's strongest selling points are their commitment to educating small businesses on the ins and outs of setting up an effective email campaign, and enhancing that campaign over time.
Perhaps the most important reason for maintaining your list with Aweber is the fact that you can still communicate with your friends, family or business contacts even when your site or hosting moves or goes off-line. With an Aweber account you can contact your customers and let them know what's happening.
