The new Kunena Forum board for Joomla will pick up where Fireboard left off. The first new version of Kunena is basically many bug fixes of the last Fireboard.From what I have read, the last developer's of Fireboard endorse the new Kunena forum board.

The developers of Kunena are also a few of the hard working coder's that were helping out with Fireboard. I have installed Kunena 1.0.7b by uninstalling Fireboard 1.00 beta and it worked well. Not to say it is perfect yet but I did notice some functions had improved.Modules and plugin in most cases still need work.

Our Fireboard installation had been closed for almost two years and now it's open again with all the posts and forums as they were a couple of years ago. The next release of Kunena is 1.0.8 and should be a more stable forum board for Joomla. It's Feb.10-2009 today and it looks like the next version 1.0.8 of Kunena will be out very soon.

Kunena not only intergrates with Community Builder, it also hooks up to JomSocial the latest social networking component for Joomla. So when you click on a profile link in the Kunena Forum it takes you to the Jomsocial profile page for the users or yourself. I believe we can expect Kunena to intergrate even more with JomSocial in the near future.Since I have purchased and use JomSocial I find the intergration of Kunena and JomSocial to be an excellent function!
