If you having been hoping for or looking for a Blog solution for Joomla that goes a bit further than the 'out of the box' Joomla model, keep an eye on MojoBlog at Joomlify . This is where you will find an old project with new coders stepping up to continue the Wordpress Joomla dream. So far mojoBlog is working and looking good!

mojoBlog (com_mojo) is an integrated fork of WordPress for use with joomla 1.0.12 and later.

functions with register globals off.
functional rss posts and rss comments feeds.
functional post trackbacks and pingbacks.
functional comments spam blocker (2).
functional psuedo-multi user blog capabilities.
functional multi category *(child categories) structure.

Currently, mojoBlog is compatible with -many- third party WordPress plugins and is/has been tested to work reliably with the following:

Akismet (spam blocker)
Spam Karma (spam activist)
wp-backup (archives WP specific content and db info)
favatars (adds site ico's to post comments from authors)
Level2Cate (adds permissions to categories for multi-authors)
Notify (adds publish permissions to submitted author posts)
Feedburner (integrates google/feedburner plugins)

Current users of Marko Schmuck's popular com_jd-wp (jd-wp/openWP) should NOT install this component without reading our upcoming tutorial on upgrading from jdwp. Doing so -very well may- delete ALL your posts and corrupt your joomla installation.
